Romania Child rights principles in policy makers’ narratives

This presentation critically analyzes the attitudes and perceptions of experts regarding the transposition of the Convention on the Rights of the Child into applicable legislation, highlighting comparisons between Romania and Norway within the CONSENT project - Cosmopolitan Turn and Democratic Sentiments. It also explores the progress and challenges in implementing children's rights in Romania, highlighting several problematic aspects such as the inconsistent application of the principle of the best interests of the child and the lack of systematic data collection on violence against children.
